Aug 7, 2008 · When the school added women’s athletics in 1975, a female wolf mascot was introduced as well. She is now called “Ms. Wuf.” In 1981, in a pregame ceremony before NC State played Wake Forest in basketball, Mr. and Ms. Wuf were married by the Demon Deacon at midcourt of Reynolds Coliseum.

Since 1975, the NC State Wolfpack athletic teams have been represented at athletic events by its mascots, Mr. and Ms. Wuf, who were married on February 28, 1981, by the Demon Deacon at Reynolds Coliseum at halftime of a college basketball game between NC State and Wake Forest.

With effective branding and distinctive logos, the Wolfpack is immediately recognizable around the world for its affiliation with NC State. These are the current logos in use, along with some vintage marks used through the years.

Jul 3, 2023 · Despite being known as the “Wolfpack,” NC State’s first mascot wasn’t a live wolf, or any animal for that matter. The first mascot was possibly Wallace Whitfield Riddick, son of future NC State President Wallace Carl Riddick.
