Robert Eggers is reteaming with Focus Features for his next film 'Werwulf,' a werewolf horror feature that he co-wrote.

Sources tell THR that “the story is set in 13th century England” and the script “features dialogue that was true to the time period and has translations and annotations for those uninitiated in Old English.

Some are flops, some are passable, some are awesome, and, after Nosferatu, Robert Eggers announced his werewolf movie. The choice of the title is significant, pulling directly from the Old English term for "werewolf" ('wer' meaning man and 'wulf' meaning wolf).

Eggers cowrote the script with his “The Northman” scribe Sjón. Like “Nosferatu,” “Werwulf” will be getting a holiday release; the film is set to premiere Christmas Day 2026.
