Bangladesh’s former ruling party has accused the interim government of “stoking division” and trampling on “democratic norms” by banning all of its activities.

Bangladesh's interim government has banned all activities of the Awami League, the political party of deposed former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, under the country's Anti-Terrorism Act, citing national security concerns.

Sheikh Hasina fled the country after a mass uprising against her government, but the party she led remained a factor in Bangladeshi politics.
