HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders agreed in principle to send a 2025 third-round pick (via the New York Jets) to the Seattle Seahawks for quarterback Geno Smith on Friday, according to league sources, but the trade can’t be finalized until the start of the 2025 NFL league year at 1 p.m. PT on Wednesday.

The decision on what quarterback they want is going to get a lot easier pretty soon for the Las Vegas Raiders. At least, that's certainly how it seems. The Raiders need one for 2025, and the options are dwindling away.

The Las Vegas Raiders figure to be big players in the trade and free agency markets this offseason, as the team has a ton of cap space and several needs to address. Based on recent rumors, the Raiders could end up bringing in multiple players who played under head coach Pete Carroll in Seattle.
