President Donald Trump says he may call Russian President Vladimir Putin soon, after Putin skipped peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey.

Trump said he wants a face-to-face meeting with his Russian counterpart as soon as possible, after insisting that Ukraine peace talks would not progress without that.

Vladimir Putin rejected calls to join direct talks with Ukraine's leader in Turkey, seemingly unphased by mounting pressure from Trump to strike a peace deal.
