Johni Broome had 23 points and 15 rebounds and No. 3 Auburn held off Ole Miss 62-57 in a quarterfinal of the Southeastern Conference tournament on Friday afternoon in Nashville.

The Auburn Tigers open their stay at the SEC Tournament Friday by facing the Ole Miss Rebels at noon CT in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Auburn grabbed the No. 1 seed of the tournament by taking down Kentucky on March 1 to claim the SEC regular season crown.

Semi-Final No. 1 Saturday in the SEC Tournament could well be a semi-final for the national championship in three weeks as the Auburn Tigers (28-4) take the court against the Tennessee Volunteers (26-6).

The No. 4 Florida Gators and No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide play in the SEC Tournament. Saturday's game is the second meeting of the season between the two teams.
