Sacramento city leaders met Thursday morning in Old Sacramento to announce plans to upgrade the waterfront and construct a new hotel downtown.

The Old Sacramento Waterfront brings in about 5 million visitors a year who say it’s the type of move that’ll keep them coming from out of town.

Mayor Darrell Steinberg and other city officials unveiled a $46 million plan to revitalize the city's Old Town waterfront area.

The plan includes building a new hotel, making improvements to docks, sidewalks and buildings in Old Sacramento and investing in more festivals.
