Tesla stock was rising—barely—in early trading Tuesday as shares have suddenly gotten less volatile. Predicting the electric vehicle maker’s daily stock moves isn’t easy, but shares are likely to get a boost from potential changes to President Donald Trump’s car tariffs.

President Trump is set to take action Tuesday to offer some relief to automakers from the effects of his steep tariffs.

The president is alleviating the impact of his duties, some of which have yet to take effect. So far, GM and Tesla are spending less — not more.
