Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says Google Maps should use 'Gulf of America' only for the portions of the Gulf that lie within US territory.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Friday that her government is suing Google for relabeling the Gulf of Mexico as “Gulf of America” for US users, CBS News reports. The company had done so in Google Maps after President Trump ordered the name change at the beginning of his Presidential term.

Mexico has filed a lawsuit against Google for ignoring repeated requests not to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America for U.S. users on its maps service, according to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
