5 players trending toward Hall of Fame elections
Of the 28 players on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America’s 2025 Hall of Fame ballot, three heard their names called when the results were announced Tuesday on MLB Network: Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner.
3 players, including Japanese star, elected to Baseball Hall of Fame
The three players will be honored July 26-28 in Cooperstown, N.Y., along with two players selected by the Classic Baseball Era Committee: Dave Parker and the late Dick Allen. The ceremony will also recognize broadcaster Tom Hamilton and writer Thomas Boswell.
Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner elected to Baseball Hall of Fame
Suzuki received 393 of 394 votes from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Sabathia was on 342 ballots and Wagner on 325, which was 29 more than the 296 needed for the required 75%.
