Villa boss Unai Emery is facing another defensive headache heading into Sunday’s FA Cup showdown with Tottenham.

Aston Villa have signed centre-back Axel Disasi from Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season. Tottenham had also reportedly been in discussions with the French defender on deadline day before he made the switch to Villa Park. Villa had been looking to sign a new centre-back after Diego Carlos’s departure to Fenerbahce in January.

Axel Disasi ’s deadline day saga is set to end with the Chelsea defender joining Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season. Villa are set to pay a loan fee of around £5million for the Frenchman after beating off competition from Tottenham.

Axel Disasi was Aston Villa’s final signing of the winter window, joining on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season.

football.london understands however, that Spurs will also have an option-to-buy Tel this summer. As the 19-year-old has chosen to join Tottenham, he will join defender Kevin Danso and goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as the new additions to Postecoglou's squad.
