Pendrith's Sunday albatross was the first at The Sentry in 26 years, but his personal tally is considerably higher.

Pendrith earned his way to Kapalua for the first time thanks to his win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson last May. That victory vaulted him up and into the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings, where he remained for the rest of the season. He even made it to East Lake for the Tour Championship, his first time doing so.

Taylor Pendrith had an albatross on the par-5 fifth hole from 203 yards, marking the first at The Sentry since the event moved to Kapalua in 1999. It is the 142nd on Tour since 1983. There were five last season, most recently by Nick Hardy at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (R2/No. 17).

It's the first albatross on tour in 2025, and it boosted Pendrith from 17 under to 20 under for the tournament. He added a birdie on 8, and as of current writing, he's playing No. 12 and tied for fourth place—well behind Hideki Matsuyama—but set up for a nice payday nonetheless, and gaining three strokes on a single hole certainly helped his cause.
