"The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for western and central Massachusetts," says the National Weather Service.

Isolated storms may be capable of producing gusty, damaging winds as well as hail. Heavy rain could also lead to localized minor flooding.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for the Columbus area Friday. The watch, which was issued at 12:50, lasts until 7 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. Showers and storms are expected to move into the area this afternoon and early evening.
