Vancouver Remembrance Day ceremony reflects on D-Day anniversary
Thousands of people are gathered in downtown Vancouver Monday to observe the city’s 100th Remembrance Day ceremony. The somber service is once again being held at the Victory Square cenotaph on West Hastings Street, where attendees are paying their respects to the Canadian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

A number of ceremonies were held in B.C. on Monday as veterans and communities gather to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Here's what you need to know about Vancouver's Remembrance Day ceremony
The ceremony will last about an hour, with the opening remarks starting at 10:30 a.m. At 10:58 a.m. "The Last Post" will be played, followed by two minutes of silence and a 21-gun salute. At 11:05 a.m. a flypast will take place (dependent on weather). Around 11:20 a.m. a parade will depart from the site.
Where you can attend Remembrance Day ceremonies on the North Shore this year
The District, North Vancouver Recreation & Culture and the Burrard Yacht Club will be holding their annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at Whey-ah-Wichen/Cates Park. The ceremony will take place Nov. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
