Raphinha has said that players “would probably think twice” about coming to Barcelona after Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were de-registered from their first-team squad. On January 4, Barcelona were planning to file a complaint to the Spanish government in their final attempt to register the two players after La Liga and the Spanish Federation (RFEF) refused to alter their stance on the registrations.

Barcelona will be taking La Liga to court yet again after the league has ruled that Dani Olmo and Pau Victor can't be registered until the summer due to Barcelona not having enough space under the La Liga salary cap following the expiration of their injury exemptions.

Olmo's summer move from RB Leipzig saw Barcelona utilise a loophole in La Liga salary rules to allow the Spain international to be registered. However, that was balanced against an exception being made, with more flexibility on salaries due to a host of long-term injuries in Hansi Flick's squad.

Barcelona have not given up hope that Dani Olmo will be able to play for them in the second half of the season despite missing the January 1 deadline to register him with La Liga. A statement from La Liga on Tuesday night said Olmo and his team-mate Pau Victor have subsequently been deleted from the club’s registered squad with the league.
