New York Giants GM Joe Schoen says that rookie QB Jaxson Dart is not quite ready to be the starter and has "a lot to learn."

The Giants traded back into Round 1 to pick Dart, securing the fifth-year option on a quarterback who needs to develop. Dart can learn from veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, and coach Brian Daboll’s ability to maximize QBs who threaten defenses with their legs puts the rookie in a great spot to become a solid starter in time.

When Joe Schoen was the Buffalo Bills’ assistant general manager in 2018, the franchise drafted Josh Allen. They had a plan for him to sit and effectively redshirt, but the former Wyoming star eventually became the starter after Nathan Peterman struggled.
