Fredericksburg fire officials are attempting to control a grassfire along Highway 290 West near Grand Oaks Drive in a rural part of Gillespie County, just 10 miles west of downtown. Public Information Officer Sean Doerre told MySA that crews are on scene with multiple assisting units en route to the fire,
"It will feel hot and dry initially before eventually becoming muggy and possibly even downright oppressive across the area," read a forecast discussion from the weather service. "Multiple records in jeopardy of being broken," it added.
