Former Maryland star Shyanne Sellers was released by the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream on Monday, the second time in a month she was waived.

The Atlanta Dream officially waive Shyanne Sellers one week after she was waived by the Golden State Valkyries.

Now 34, the 6-foot-9 center is embracing a fresh start. After spending over a decade as the face of the Phoenix Mercury, where she earned multiple All-Star selections and became one of the league’s most dominant post players, Griner is beginning a new chapter with the Atlanta Dream.

The Dream have brought in several big players in the offseason, one of them being Brittney Griner. Griner brings 11 years of experience and a high ceiling for scoring. The veteran averages almost 18 points a game and will be influential for Atlanta's offense.

Te-Hina Paopao had a message after repsonding to a Caitlin Clark 3-pointer during the Dream's final preseason game.

Before the start of the game, though, the team introduced their newest star. It was the first time that Brittney Griner was introduced to the home crowd since she signed a one-year deal to play for Atlanta. When her name was called, the crowd erupted and had an energetic reaction.
